Julie Brandle, President

Julie Brandle is the President and a Founder of Metis Construction Services, a female-owned commercial general contractor located in Kent, Ohio focusing on interior renovations, ground-up construction and facilities maintenance throughout Northeast Ohio. With over 25 years experience in sales, marketing, and public relations, Julie oversees these areas of expertise for Metis along with being an integral part of the ownership team that designs and manages the overall business strategy for Metis. 

Julie volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and the Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio, where she is a recipient of the 2015 Women of Distinction Award. She serves on the leadership boards of CREW-Commercial Real Estate Women, Rebuilding Together - Portage County, Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce and Greater Akron Chamber Small Business Council, Akron Civic Theatre, Kent State University Construction Management Department Advisory Board, Portage Development Board, and Rotary Club of Akron where she is currently serving as Immediate Past President. She is a 2014 graduate of both Leadership Portage and the Goldman Sachs 10k small business program. Julie and her husband Steven reside in Brimfield Twp. Their daughter Kimberly is a sophomore Intervention Specialist Education major at Bowling Green State University.

Ann Wehener, Immediate Past President

During her twenty-plus years of law practice, Ann has served the commercial litigation and transactional needs of not only large institutions, but small businesses and individuals as well. She enjoys working with her clients to solve their problems to position them for optimum success. She is also committed to making her community a better place to live, as shown through her past position as President of the Junior League of Akron and her present position as President of the Board of Family Promise of Summit County, an organization devoted to assisting homeless families.

zada lines, First Vice President

Zada Lines joined CBRE's Akron office in September 2014 as an Associate in CBRE's Office Specialty Brokerage Group. Her competitive spirit and commitment to a strong work ethic makes her a valuable addition to CBRE. She works collaboratively with Susan Lines and Gary Rickel and focuses primarily on office and investment properties. Zada was recently recognized as a recipient for Crain's Cleveland Business - Twenty in their 20s, class of 2017 and the Greater Akron Chamber's - 30 for the Future for 2017. In 2015, Zada was recognized as CBRE's Rookie of the Year in the Cleveland/Akron market. In addition to CREW, Zada participates in Torchbearers as a 2018 Membership Committee Co-Chair.

Patty mclean , Second Vice President

Patty is Vice President, Business Banking Client Manager with U.S. Bank. She partners with business clients throughout Northeast Ohio. With 20 years of experience, she assists clients in managing, growing and maintaining their businesses with customized solutions. Patty is active with the Stark County CASA/GAL Program and committee member for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival.

tara stephen, Secretary

Tara received her Finance & Economic degree from Bethany College. Tara has been in the Banking industry for 19 years. Working in all aspects of commercial lending within Summit, Stark, Medina, and Cuyahoga counties, previously with two large regional Banks and moved to S&T Bank in May 2015. She specializes in commercial & industrial and real estate lending.

Corianne voltz, Treasurer

Corianne joined SVN®Summit Commercial Real Estate Group, LLC, Akron, Ohio as an Associate Advisor in 2017, focusing primarily on medical office/office properties.   Prior to joining SVN, she worked for over 25 years in Commercial Banking space providing short term cash flow solutions to middle market, private banking and public entity clients, as a Treasury Sales Relationship Manager for regional banks in the Northeast Ohio market.

Corianne has been a Certified Treasury Professional for over 20 years and has served as President, Board Member and Conference Committee Chair for the Northeast Ohio Association for Financial Professionals (previously NEOTMA).  Her community efforts include serving on the board of the Battered Women’s Shelter of Summit & Medina Counties, being a volunteer in the VITA program, and additional volunteer efforts for other non-profit organizations.  Corianne recently moved to Green, Ohio, is a member of the Ohio North Coast Jitterbug Connection and is the proud mother of one daughter.

 


carrie leising, Assistant Treasurer

Carrie has been in the Banking Industry for over 18 years, having started career working in the branches. Carrie found her passion partnering with and supporting businesses and their owners and worked her way up to the Commercial side. Carrie is now, VP of Commercial Lending at Westfield Bank where she specializes in building relationships and assisting business owners in their business and personal financial solutions and decisions.

In addition to CREW, Carrie is President Elect for the Stow Munroe Falls Rotary Club and loves to volunteer in her off hours with non-profits such as the Akron Canton Foodbank, Junior Achievement, Access, Inc., and Bulldog Bags. Carrie lives in Kent, OH with her husband, Brian and two children, Keeley and Sienna.


Committee

The membership committee works to identify and recruit new members. The chairperson coordinates the application process and verifies qualifications and submits qualified members for vote by the Executive Committee for membership. 

The committee works to retain members and works to follow up on membership renewals each year with CREW National. The committee works with the Program Committee to organize New Member Events and other events for recruiting new members.

Maureen Aebi, Committee Chair

Maureen Aebi, CPA, MT is a supervisor in the firm's tax department. She has more than five years of experience serving a variety of industries, such as commerial and residential real estate and professional services. Maureen assists businesses with tax planning, tax compliance and tax research.


Lori sallaz, Committee Vice-Chair

Lori is responsible for performing a variety of administrative, human resources, accounting, marketing, clerical and management support duties necessary for the organization to run efficiently and be promoted in an effective and professional manner. She is also responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable for Development Finance Authority of Summit County (DFA) and Development Fund of the Western Reserve (DFWR) and assists with and directs marketing outreach activities for DFA and DFWR through oversight of the website, electronic newsletters, press releases and marketing materials.  Lori helps manage DFWR compliance, working closely with borrowers, and has completed NMTC training.

Furthering her education, Lori attended ITT Technical institute and Youngstown State University. She has 29 years of management experience in public and private sectors. Her extensive background includes experience in human resources, office management and technology, records management, compliance and customer service.

Lori resides in Portage County and is a Board member of CREW Greater Akron and the Northeast Ohio Trail Riders Association.  She enjoys reading, horseback riding, camping and hiking.

 

Sponsorship Committee

The Sponsorship Committee shall work to secure Annual and Event Sponsors for each year. The chair person works with the Treasurer to invoice sponsors and confirm receipt. The committee works with the Programs Committee to make sure valued sponsors receive the recognition of sponsorship and the free tickets to events. 

The committee shall work to identify new sponsors and expand the opportunities for sponsorship. These efforts support the activities of the organization not covered by dues and event charges.


 

June Ring, Committee Chair

June is the Director of Business Development for UberData Networks, a leading technology systems integrator specializing in customized in-building fiber networks. June has 30+ years’ experience in industrial and technology sales and business development, and has focused the last 4 years on technology in commercial real estate. In her current role, she develops new opportunities across multiple market sectors and interfaces with owners, developers, contractors, architects and engineers across the U.S. to bring forward-thinking technology solutions to new and renovated buildings.

June has been involved with CREW Greater Akron for the past two years and also serves on the boards of the Rotary Club of Akron and FCA Akron.


sue myers, Committee Vice-Chair

Sue Myers is a Vice President of Business Banking for Huntington National Bank located in Akron, Ohio.

 In Sue’s 19 years in banking she has worked with hundreds of business owners in a variety of industries to assist with their banking needs.  Sue’s goal is to not only provide business owners with banking products and services to suit their needs, but to become a trusted business advisor.

 Sue received her BSBA from Ashland University and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.

 Sue is active in the community, including serving on the Medina County ADAMH board, CREW Greater Akron board, a graduate of the Women’s Network community leadership institute, a member of the marketing committee for Downtown Akron Partnership and an active alumni of Leadership Medina County

Sue resides in Brunswick, Ohio with her husband, (Geoff), and 2 sons, (Nick & Dylan).


Programs and Professional Development Committee

The Programs Committee shall work to provide various professional development events and networking events; both members only and open events for recruiting purposes. Subcommittees may be formed to coordinate some of the signature events; Bus Tour, Book Club, Insiders Tours and Annual Forum. 

The Committee shall work to provide relevant and frequent opportunities for members to network and expand their skills and knowledge through professional development on current topics affecting the industry. Some events will be open to non-members, but other events will be members only events to benefit the overall membership (Insiders Tours) on relevant local commercial opportunities. 

Bus Tour - highlights recent, significant real estate projects in the local area. The tour provides insight into the development of projects and facilities not generally available for public visits. Members get priority on reservations and reduced rates. 

  • Book Club - a members only event which allows the discussion and conversation around relevant reading topics.

  • Insiders Tours - a quarterly event open to members only typically an hour in the early morning or late afternoon providing a special opportunity to get an insider's view of special projects in the area often hosted by the developer.

  • Annual Forum - a signature event held each fall. A half date event offering CE (continuing education) for brokers, accountants and attorneys providing information and professional development on current industry relevant topics.


Katie Hauser, Committee Chair

Katie Hauser, IIDA, NCIDQ, LEED AP joined the Interface sales team in May 2015 as an Account Executive, and along with her sales partner services her Northern Ohio customer base with tremendous enthusiasm and a tireless sense of top notch customer service. Katie's education and previous work experience as an NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer allows her to bring a pragmatic yet creative approach to her client's needs as they collaboratively work through the flooring selection and design process. In addition to CREW, Katie participates on the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Cleveland Akron Committee, currently serving as Student Relations Chair, where she is charged with cultivating relationships with and programming for five area college Interior Design programs. She was also recognized nationally as IIDA's Member of the Year for 2016 as a testament to her commitment to the field of interior design and volunteerism.


Sarah Gregg, Committee Vice-chair

Sarah Gregg is the Associate Director of Compliance and manages all environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance services for clients in the Midwest.  Based out of the Akron, Ohio office she works for Partners, an environmental, engineering & surveying firm headquartered in Solon, Ohio with offices across the northeastern United States.  Sarah has a bachelor’s degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and is a registered Professional Engineer (PE).  She has 15 years of experience in consulting providing senior oversight for EHS compliance and environmental due diligence projects, including corporate auditing.  Sarah is also currently a member of the Board of Directors for Cleveland’s Chapter for the Association for Corporate Growth (www.acg.org/cleveland), ATHENA Akron, Inc. (www.athenaakron.org), and Keep Akron Beautiful (www.keepakronbeautiful.org).

brittany michael, Committee Chair

Brittany is the Attorney for Patriot Title Agency Inc. Brittany earned her bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and her JD/MBA from The University of Akron. She has worked in the real estate field for over four years.

Libby yeargin, Committee Vice-Chair

Libby is an attorney at Brouse McDowell and co-chair of the Corporate and Securities Practice Group. She is also a partner in the Business Restructuring, Bankruptcy and Commercial Law and Real Estate practice groups. Libby’s practice is focused on transactional work, principally in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, general corporate law, finance, commercial transactions and agreements and real estate purchase and lease agreements.  Libby has professional and personal experience in real estate and enjoys working with clients in real estate sales and acquisitions, both residential and commercial. Libby also assists clients with residential and commercial leasing, property management arrangements, easements and other title-related issues.  Libby earned her bachelor’s degree from Miami University and her JD from The University of Akron.


Bus Tour Committee

CREW Greater Akron hosts an annual bus tour that highlights recent, significant real estate projects in the local community. The tour provides insight into the development of the projects and affords participants an opportunity to tour facilities not generally available for public visits. The bus tour is open to members and non-members and has had a significant increase in participation over the past several years.

denise armstrong, Committee Chair

Denise Armstrong is the Regional Director - Property Manager for the McKinley Commercial Owned portfolio. Denise manages 708,819 square feet of first class office space in downtown Akron, Ohio including the FirstEnergy/Akron Centre and 222 S. Main buildings. Denise has also managed over 2,000,000 square feet of shopping center space. Denise currently is the Treasurer of the Special Improvement District for the City of Akron and is a member of Downtown Akron Partnership, BOMA and CREW. Denise has taken management, leasing and marketing classes through the International Council of Shopping Center and is a Notary Public. 

Denise also volunteers for various non-profit agencies including the United Way.

Amy Brooks, Committee Vice-Chair

Amy Brooks joined SJL Management Group in Nov. 2014 as Facilities Manager. SJL thrives in Commercial real estate investing and property management. Amy's 20 years of human resource management experience involving performance management, recruiting, compliance reporting, training and dedicated client/employee relations and satisfaction has been a great asset.


Holiday Luncheon Committee

CREW Greater Akron hosts an annual holiday luncheon each year, with net proceeds going to benefit a local non-profit agency. The event provides an opportunity for all to enjoy professional networking and fulfill philanthropic interests during the holiday season. Committee members work to select the organization receiving the proceeds as well as plan the event.

Karen has been a City Planner in the Zoning Division of the City of Akron Department of Planning and Urban Development for over 17 years. One of her many roles is to work with developers, real estate agents, bankers, etc. regarding land use issues. She is also a nationally certified Zoning Inspector and issues all the city's zoning code violations. Karen is an avid golfer who wishes one day to shoot her age. In addition to CREW, Karen volunteers as a CASA and is a Volunteer Coach for The First Tee of Greater Akron.

sarah young, Committee Vice-Chair

Sarah has been working as an Environmental Consultant for 18 years and is currently employed as a Senior Manager for August Mack Environmental, Inc. She has experience managing due diligence projects associated with residential, commercial, and industrial properties such as filling stations, dry cleaning facilities, machine shops, and a former manufactured gas plant.  Due diligence activities include Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, site characterization investigations, vapor intrusion studies, underground storage tank (UST) system closures, and remediation implementation.

Sarah was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and moved to Indiana in the mid-1990s to obtain her Environmental Management degree from Indiana University.  She moved back to Northeast Ohio to work at an environmental consulting firm where she gained valuable experience.  Her husband took her back to Indiana in the early 2000s where they lived until August 2016 while she continued her work in the environmental consulting industry.  Sarah and her husband moved to Northeast Ohio in August 2016 with their three beautiful children, where they enjoy as much family time as possible in addition to playing soccer, fishing, concerts, and camping.
