The Civic, I Love This Place!

Join CREW Greater Akron for an in-depth look at the Akron Civic Theatre, its stories and its history. We will learn about the many architectural features and beautiful works of art in the arcade, grand lobby, promenade, and mezzanine, and we will discover the heart of the beautiful atmospheric theater that features a star-lit sky. We will also explore the many upgrades that resulted from the recent Staging the Future capital project, including public art and two new venues: The Knight Stage, a black box theater in the restored Whitelaw building, and Wild Oscar’s, a micro-venue on the Lock 4 “garden alley” level. Along the way, our guide will share stories about the theater’s colorful past, present, and future.

Parking:     Free surface parking west of the theatre on a first come-first serve basis or nearby paid garages: O’Neil’s Parking Deck at 52 W. State St. and Akron Centre Parking Deck at 11 W. Mill St.
